About

My name is Thibault Gauriau, and I'm an FX Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), I get to bring complex visual effects to life for feature films.

 

Over the past two decades, I've worked on more than 34 feature films and television productions such as Star Wars, The Avengers, Pacific Rim, Transformers, Ready Player One, The Mandalorian, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Tron: Ares.

 

Along the way, I've had the privilege of leading talented FX teams around the world, and I love it when we learn, experiment, and discover new ways to push visual storytelling forward together.

Winner of the 2020 Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards: Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature for his work on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Outside of VFX, I'm also a fine art photographer and have curated several public art exhibitions. I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned, so I regularly give lectures and masterclasses for anyone who's just as excited about creativity and technology as I am.

 

When I'm not making things explode on screen, you'll probably find me practicing handstands, jumping out of airplanes, or on a mission to find the best bakery in town.
